One Billion Stars – Inspiring communities to weave stars for joy, courage, and violence free communities.

The One Billion Stars project uses star weaving to help strengthen community connections and improve mental health for resilient, violence free communities. Weaving an 8 pointed star is a traditional craft used by many cultures, including Pacific Island, Māori and Indigenous Australian cultures. One Billion Stars (formerly the One Million Stars to End Violence project) was created by Samoan-Australian weaving artist, Maryann Talia Pau, in 2012. Maryann invites people around the world to help weave one billion stars by 2032.
